Section 536(g) of the Water Resources Development Act of 2000 ( Public Law 106–541 ; 114 Stat. 2662; 128 Stat. 1314) is amended by striking $50,000,000 and inserting $75,000,000 . Section 104 of the River and Harbor Act of 1958 ( 33 U.S.C. 610 ) is amended— in subsection (d)— by striking paragraph
(1)and inserting the following: In carrying out this section, the Secretary may establish, operate, and maintain new or existing watercraft inspection stations to protect the Columbia River Basin to be located in the States of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington at locations, as determined by the Secretary in consultation with such States, with the highest likelihood of preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species at reservoirs operated and maintained by the Secretary. The Secretary shall also assist the States referred to in this paragraph with rapid response to any aquatic invasive species, including quagga or zebra mussel, infestation. ; and in paragraph (3)(A) by inserting Governors of the before States ; and in subsection
(e)by striking paragraph
(3)and inserting the following: assist States in early detection of aquatic invasive species, including quagga and zebra mussels; and . Upon the request of the Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary may provide assistance on land transferred by the Department of the Army to the Department of the Interior pursuant to title IV of Public Law 100–581 (102 Stat. 2944; 110 Stat. 766; 110 Stat. 3762; 114 Stat. 2679; 118 Stat. 544) to Indian tribes displaced as a result of the construction of the Bonneville Dam, Oregon. The Secretary is authorized to provide the assistance described in subparagraph
(A)based on information known or studies undertaken by the Secretary prior to the date of enactment of this subsection. To the extent that the Secretary determines necessary, the Secretary is authorized to undertake additional studies to further examine any impacts to Indian tribes identified in subparagraph
(A)beyond any information or studies identified under clause (i), except that the Secretary is authorized to provide the assistance described in subparagraph
(A)based solely on information known or studies undertaken by the Secretary prior to the date of enactment of this subsection. The Secretary shall— conduct a study to determine the number of Indian tribes displaced by the construction of the John Day Dam, Oregon; and recommend to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a plan to provide assistance to Indian tribes displaced as a result of the construction of the John Day Dam, Oregon.
