Section 1886(d)(12) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395ww(d)(12) ) is amended— in subparagraph (B), in the matter preceding clause (i), by striking fiscal year 2018 and inserting fiscal year 2019 ; in subparagraph (C)(i), by striking fiscal years 2011 through 2017, 1,600 discharges of individuals entitled to, or enrolled for, benefits under part A and inserting fiscal years 2011 through 2016, 1,600 discharges of individuals entitled to, or enrolled for, benefits under part A, or, with respect to fiscal years 2017 and 2018, 2,000 discharges of such individuals ; and in subparagraph (D)— by striking 1,600 and inserting the applicable number of ; and by adding at the end the following new sentence:
For purposes of the preceding sentence, the term . applicable number of discharges means 1,600 discharges with respect to discharges occurring in fiscal years 2011 through 2016, and 2,000 discharges with respect to discharges occurring in fiscal years 2017 and 2018.
