This section may be cited as the . United States Chief Technology Officer Act Section 203 the National Science and Technology Policy, Organization, and Priorities Act of 1976 ( 42 U.S.C. 6612 ) is amended— by inserting
(b)before Associate Directors .— The President is authorized and indenting appropriately; by inserting
(a)before In general .— There shall be and indenting appropriately; and by adding at the end the following: Subject to subsection (b), the President is authorized to designate 1 of the Associate Directors under that subsection as a United States Chief Technology Officer. .
