Section 2273 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by redesignating subsection
(c)as subsection (d); and by inserting after subsection
(b)the following: Except as provided by section 1608(c) of the Carl Levin and Howard P. Buck McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 ( 10 U.S.C. 2271 note) (as in effect on December 1, 2015), rocket engines designed or manufactured in the Russian Federation may not be used to pursue the attainment of the capabilities described in subsection (a). .
