Not later than September 30, 2017, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the sustainment support structure for the F–35 Lightning II aircraft program. The review under subsection
(a)shall include, with respect to the F–35 Lightning II aircraft program, the following: The status of the sustainment support strategy for the program, including goals for personnel training, required infrastructure, and fleet readiness. Approaches, including performance-based logistics, considered in developing the sustainment support strategy for the program. Other information regarding sustainment and logistics support for the program that the Comptroller General determines to be of critical importance to the long-term viability of the program.
