The Office, in collaboration with the Industrial Assessment Centers at the Department, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, original equipment manufacturers, and public utilities, shall develop a pilot program to work with small- and medium-manufacturers in supply chains of original equipment manufacturers to provide— an assessment of manufacturing efficiency; and best practices and technical assistance for implementing energy savings and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
