Section 102 of the Department of Energy Organization Act ( 42 U.S.C. 7112 ) is amended by adding at the end the following: To facilitate the development and implementation of a strategy for responding to energy infrastructure and supply emergencies through— continuously monitoring and publishing information on the energy delivery and supply infrastructure of the United States, including electricity, liquid fuels, natural gas, and coal; managing Federal strategic energy reserves; advising national leadership during emergencies on ways to respond to and minimize energy disruptions; and working with Federal agencies and State and local governments— to enhance energy emergency preparedness; and to respond to and mitigate energy emergencies. .
Section 202(b)(4) of the Department of Energy Organization Act ( 42 U.S.C. 7132(b)(4) ) (as amended by section 4404(a)(3)) is amended, in subparagraph (B), by inserting and applied energy before programs of the . Section 203(a) of the Department of Energy Organization Act ( 42 U.S.C. 7133(a) ) is amended by adding at the end the following: Emergency response functions, including assistance in the prevention of, or in the response to, an emergency disruption of energy supply, transmission, and distribution. .
