Section 2501 of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 ( 42 U.S.C. 3796ll ) is amended by adding at the end the following: In this subsection, the term appropriated funds means any amounts that are appropriated for any of fiscal years 2016 through 2020 to carry out this part. All appropriated funds that are not obligated on or before December 31, 2022 shall be transferred to the General Fund of the Treasury not later than January 31, 2023. .
