Sec. 612. Modification to special aviation incentive pay and bonus authorities for officers

Subsection
(a)of section 334 of title 37, United States Code, is amended— by inserting
(1)before The Secretary ; by redesignating paragraphs (1), (2), (3), (4), and
(5)as subparagraphs (A), (B), (C), (D), and (E), respectively; and by adding at the end the following new paragraph: The Secretary concerned may pay aviation incentive pay under this section to an officer who is otherwise qualified for such pay but who is not currently engaged in the performance of operational flying duty or proficiency flying duty if the Secretary determines, under regulations prescribed under section 374 of this title, that payment of aviation incentive pay to that officer is in the best interests of the service. . Subsection (h)(1) of such section is amended by striking (except a flight surgeon or other medical officer) . Subsection (c)(1)(A) of such section is amended by striking $850 and inserting $1,000 . Subsection (c)(1)(B) of such section is amended by striking $25,000 and inserting $35,000 . Subsection
(f)of such section is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking 353 and inserting 353(a) ; and in paragraph (2)— by inserting bonus after may not receive a ; and by striking 353 and inserting 353(b) .
