Section 203(a)(2) of the Department of Energy Organization Act ( 42 U.S.C. 7133(a)(2) ) is amended— in subparagraph (C), by inserting and after the semicolon at the end; by striking subparagraph (D); and by redesignating subparagraph

(E)as subparagraph (D). Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Office of Fossil Energy Research and Development and the authority to carry out any program or activity of the Office (as in existence on the day before the date of enactment of this Act) is terminated.
