The amount of reimbursement to an employee under subsection
(a)shall be in an amount that is at least 50 percent, but not more than 75 percent, of the specified pay amount (as described in paragraph (2)) of the employee. For purposes of paragraph (1), the specified pay amount, with respect to an employee, is the annual rate of basic pay of the employee in effect at the beginning of the service period of such employee multiplied by the number of years (including fractions of a year) in the service period, not to exceed 4 years.
