Sec. 1046. Transportation on military aircraft on a space-available basis for members and former members of the Armed Forces with disabilities rated as total

Section 2641b of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by redesignating subsection
(f)as subsection (g); and by inserting after subsection
(e)the following new subsection (f): The Secretary of Defense shall provide transportation on scheduled and unscheduled military flights within the continental United States and on scheduled overseas flights operated by the Air Mobility Command on a space-available basis for any member or former member of the armed forces with a disability rated as total on the same basis as such transportation is provided to members of the armed forces entitled to retired or retainer pay. The transportation priority required by paragraph
(1)for veterans described in such paragraph applies whether or not the Secretary establishes the travel program authorized by this section. In this subsection, the term disability rated as total has the meanings given that term in section 1414(e)(3) of this title. . Subsection
(f)of section 2641b of title 10, United States Code, as added by subsection (a), shall take effect at the end of the 90-day period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.
