Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall adopt the core quality performance metrics agreed upon by the Core Quality Measures Collaborative for use by the military health system and in contracts awarded to carry out the TRICARE program. The core quality performance metrics described in paragraph
(1)shall include the following sets: Accountable care organizations, patient centered medical homes and primary care. Cardiology. Gastroenterology. HIV and hepatitis C. Medical oncology. Obstetrics and gynecology. Orthopedics. In this section: The term Core Quality Measures Collaborative means the collaboration between the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, major health insurance companies, national physician organizations, and other entities to reach consensus on core performance measures reported by health care providers. The term TRICARE program has the meaning given that term in section 1072 of title 10, United States Code.
