Sec. 234. Pilot program on modernization of electromagnetic spectrum warfare systems and electronic warfare systems

The Secretary of Defense may carry out a pilot program on the modernization of electromagnetic spectrum warfare systems and electronic warfare systems. If the Secretary carries out the pilot program under paragraph (1), the Electronic Warfare Executive Committee shall select from the list described in section 237(b)(4) a total of five electromagnetic spectrum warfare systems and electronic warfare systems across at least two military departments that are currently in sustainment for modernization under the pilot program.
In this section: The term electromagnetic spectrum warfare means electronic warfare that encompasses military communications and sensing operations that occur in the electromagnetic operational domain. The term electronic warfare means military action involving the use of electromagnetic and directed energy to control the electromagnetic spectrum or to attack the enemy.
