Section 5(b)(1)(B) of the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 ( Public Law 104–172 ; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note) is amended— in clause (i), by striking would likely and inserting may ; and in clause (ii)— in subclause (I), by striking ; or and inserting a semicolon; by redesignating subclause
(II)as subclause (III); and by inserting after subclause
(I)the following: acquire or develop ballistic missiles and the capability to launch ballistic missiles; or . Section 13(b) of the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 ( Public Law 104–172 ; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note) is amended by striking December 31, 2016 and inserting December 31, 2031 .
