The Comptroller General of the United States shall conduct a study to determine the scientific and technical adequacy of the flood maps proposed and established pursuant to chapter III of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 ( 42 U.S.C. 4101 et seq. ) by the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Not later than the expiration of the 6-month period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall submit a report to the Committee on Financial Services of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the Senate a report setting forth the results and conclusions of the study conducted pursuant to this section.
