Sec. 248. Authorization of appropriations

There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this chapter such sums as are necessary. Amounts made available under subsection
(a)may be used— to carry out the investigations to carry out this chapter; and to pay any other costs associated with conveyances under this chapter, including an appropriate Federal share of the costs of compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 ( 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq. ) and other applicable law. Expenditures made by the Secretary under this chapter— shall not be a project cost assignable to a reclamation project; and shall be nonreimbursable.
