Section 9101(25) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 7801(25) ) is amended by striking the matter preceding subparagraph
(A)and inserting the following: The term English language learner means an individual— . Any reference in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 6301 et seq. ) to an individual who is limited English proficient shall be construed to refer to an English language learner.
