Section 1905(a)(16) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1396d(a)(16) ) is amended by inserting before the semicolon at the end the following: , and, effective January 1, 2019, the full-range of early and periodic screening, diagnostic, and treatment services (as defined in subsection (r)) for such individuals whether or not such screening, diagnostic, and treatment services are furnished by the provider of inpatient psychiatric hospital services for individuals under age 21 .
