Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence shall submit to the congressional committees specified in subsection
(b)a report that represents the coordinated assessment of the intelligence community on terrorist use of social media. The congressional committees specified in this subsection are the following: Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate. Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate. Committee on Judiciary of the Senate. Committee on Homeland and Government Affairs of the Senate. Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives. Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives. Committee on Judiciary of the House of Representatives. Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives. The report submitted under subsection
(a)shall include each of the following: An assessment of what role social media plays in radicalization in the United States and elsewhere. An assessment of how terrorists and terrorist organizations are using social media, including trends. An assessment of the intelligence value of social media posts by terrorists and terrorist organizations. An assessment of the impact on the national security of the United States of the public availability of terrorist content on social media for fundraising, radicalization, and recruitment. The report required by subsection
(a)shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
