Section 31111 of title 49, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (b)(1)(A) by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways (except a segment exempted under subsection
(f)of this section) and those classes of qualifying Federal-aid Primary System highways designated by the Secretary of Transportation under subsection
(e)of this section and inserting the National Highway System and the National Freight Network (except a segment exempted under subsection
(e)of this section) ; in subsection
(c)by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways (except a segment exempted under subsection
(f)of this section) and those classes of qualifying Federal-aid Primary System highways designated by the Secretary of Transportation under subsection
(e)of this section and inserting the National Highway System and the National Freight Network (except a segment exempted under subsection
(e)of this section) ; by striking subsection (e); by redesignating subsections
(f)and
(g)as subsections
(e)and (f), respectively; and in subsection (e), as redesignated— in paragraph
(1)by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways and inserting the National Highway System or the National Freight Network ; in paragraph
(2)by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways and inserting the National Highway System or the National Freight Network ; and in paragraph (4)(A) by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways and inserting the National Highway System or the National Freight Network . Section 31112 of title 49, United States Code, is amended in subsection
(b)by striking by the Secretary of Transportation under section 31111(e) of this title and inserting in part 658 of title 23, Code of Federal Regulations . Section 31113 of title 49, United States Code, is amended— by amending subsection
(a)to read as follows: Except as provided in subsection
(e)of this section, a State (except Hawaii) may not prescribe or enforce a regulation of commerce that imposes a vehicle width limitation of more or less than 102 inches on a commercial motor vehicle operating on the National Highway System or the National Freight Network. ; in subsection
(d)by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways (except a segment exempted under subsection
(e)of this section) or other qualifying Federal-aid highway designated by the Secretary and inserting the National Highway System or National Freight Network ; and in subsection (e)— in paragraph
(1)by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways and inserting the National Highway System or National Freight Network ; in paragraph
(2)by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways and inserting the National Highway System or National Freight Network ; and in paragraph (4)(A) by striking the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways and inserting the National Highway System or National Freight Network . Section 31114 of title 49, United States Code, is amended— in the section heading by striking Interstate System and inserting National Highway System and National Freight Network ; and by amending subsection (a)(1) to read as follows: the National Highway System or the National Freight Network; and . The Secretary shall not enforce the amendments made by this section until 3 years after the effective date of this Act.
