Sec. 213. Report on status of any application of metals exchange to register as a foreign board of trade; deadline for action on application

Within 90 days after the date of the enactment of this section, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission shall submit to the Congress a written report on— the status of the review by the Commission of any application submitted by a metals exchange to register with the Commission under section 4(b)(1) of the Commodity Exchange Act; the status of Commission negotiations with foreign regulators regarding aluminum warehousing; and the status of consultations with all United States market participants including major producers and consumers. Not later than September 30, 2016, the Commission shall take action on any such application submitted to the Commission on or before August 14, 2012.
