Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to Congress a report that— assesses the status of autonomous transportation technology policy developed by public entities in the United States; assesses the organizational readiness of the Department to address autonomous vehicle technology challenges, including consumer privacy protections; and recommends implementation paths for autonomous transportation technology, applications, and policies that are based on the assessment described in paragraph (2).
