Section 205 of the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2008 ( 49 U.S.C. 24101 note) is amended— by striking as of the date of enactment of this Act each place it appears; in subsection (a)— by inserting , to the extent provided in advance in appropriations Acts after Amtrak’s indebtedness ; and by striking the second sentence; in subsection
(b)by striking The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation and inserting To the extent amounts are provided in advance in appropriations Acts, the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation ; in subsection (d), by inserting , to the extent provided in advance in appropriations Acts after as appropriate ; in subsection (e)— in paragraph
(1)by striking by section 102 of this division ; and in paragraph
(2)by striking by section 102 and inserting for Amtrak ; in subsection
(g)by inserting , unless that debt receives credit assistance, including direct loans and loan guarantees, under after chapter 6 of title 23, United States Code or title V of the Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976 ( 45 U.S.C. 821 et seq. ) Secretary ; and by striking subsection (h).
