Sec. 5301. Implementing safety requirements

If the deadline established under section 31306a(a)(1) of title 49, United States Code, has not been met, not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Transportation shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate written notification that— explains why such deadline has not been met; and establishes a new deadline for completion of the requirements of such section.
If the deadline established under section 31137(a) of title 49, United States Code, has not been met, not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate written notification that— explains why such deadline has not been met; and establishes a new deadline for completion of the requirements of such section.
If the deadline established under section 31305(c) of title 49, United States Code, has not been met, not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate written notification that— explains why such deadline has not been met; and establishes a new deadline for completion of the requirements of such section.
If the Secretary determines that a deadline established under subsection (a)(2), (b)(2), or (c)(2) cannot be met, not later than 30 days after the date on which such determination is made, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate written notification that— explains why such deadline cannot be met; and establishes a new deadline for completion of the relevant requirements.
