Sec. 1402. Prohibition on the use of funds for automated traffic enforcement

Except as provided in subsection (b), for fiscal years 2016 through 2021, funds apportioned to a State under section 104(b)(3) of title 23, United States Code, may not be used to purchase, operate, or maintain an automated traffic enforcement system. Subsection
(a)does not apply to an automated traffic enforcement system located in a school zone. In this section, the term automated traffic enforcement system means any camera that captures an image of a vehicle for the purposes of traffic law enforcement.
