Sec. 561. Availability of preseparation counseling for members of the Armed Forces discharged or released after limited active duty

Section 1142(a)(4) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in subparagraph (A), by striking that member's first 180 days of active duty and inserting the first 180 continuous days of active duty of the member ; and by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: For purposes of calculating the days of active duty of a member under subparagraph (A), the Secretary concerned shall exclude any day on which— the member performed full-time training duty or annual training duty; and the member attended, while in the active military service, a school designated as a service school by law or by the Secretary concerned. .
