Sec. 1207. Prohibition on assistance to entities in Yemen controlled by the Houthi movement

No amounts authorized to be appropriated for fiscal year 2016 for the Department of Defense by this Act may be used to provide assistance to an entity in Yemen that is controlled by members of the Houthi movement. The prohibition in subsection
(a)shall not apply if the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Director of National Intelligence, determines that the provision of assistance as described in that subsection is important to the national security interests of the United States. Not later than 30 days after providing assistance under this subsection, the Secretary shall submit to the congressional defense committees notice on such assistance, including the following: The assistance provided. The rationale for the provision of such assistance. The national security interests of the United States in providing such assistance. Each notice under paragraph
(2)shall be submitted in an unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
