Sec. 223. Plan for advanced weapons technology war games

The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, shall develop a plan for integrating advanced weapons technologies into exercises carried out individually and jointly by the military departments to improve the development and experimentation of various concepts for employment by the Armed Forces. The plan under subsection
(a)shall include the following: Identification of specific exercises to be carried out individually or jointly by the military departments under the plan. Identification of emerging advanced weapons technologies based on joint and individual recommendations of the military departments, including with respect to directed-energy weapons, hypersonic strike systems, autonomous systems, or other technologies as determined by the Secretary. A schedule for integrating either prototype capabilities or table-top exercises into relevant exercises. A method for capturing lessons learned and providing feedback both to the developers of the advanced weapons technology and the military departments. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the congressional defense committees the plan under subsection (a).
