Congress finds the following: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan remains a steadfast partner and the armed forces of Jordan are among the United States’ strongest military partners. Jordan’s civil and military leadership continue to provide a positive example of professionalism and moderation. The Colorado National Guard’s relationship with the Jordanian military provides a significant benefit to both the United States and Jordan. The armed forces of Jordan fought alongside United States forces in Afghanistan and are currently flying combat sorties as part of the counter-ISIL Coalition.
Jordan continues to provide critical basing support for Operation Inherent Resolve missions. It is the sense of Congress that— Jordan is one of our most important allies in the region and the United States should support Jordan’s military efforts to the greatest extent possible, including by providing military equipment and training; and the President should make every effort to ensure rapid responses to any military requests for assistance from Jordan.
