The purposes of this Act are— to establish a single Federal regulatory body with jurisdiction over securities, derivatives, options, futures, and related markets and instruments; to coordinate the regulation of relevant financial markets; to strengthen investor confidence in United States financial markets; and to ensure the efficiency and competitiveness of those markets.
