Section 1408A of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3123a ) is amended— in subsection (b)— by striking Individuals and inserting the following: Individuals ; by striking Members and inserting the following: Members ; and by adding at the end the following: Membership of the specialty crops committee shall reflect diversity in the specialty crops represented. ; in subsection (c), by adding at the end the following: Analysis of alignment of specialty crop committee recommendations with specialty crop research initiative grants awarded under section 412(d) of the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998 ( 7 U.S.C. 7632 ). ; by redesignating subsections
(d)and
(e)as subsections
(e)and (f), respectively; by inserting after subsection
(c)the following: In studying the scope and effectiveness of programs under subsection (a), the specialty crops committee shall consult on an ongoing basis with diverse sectors of the specialty crop industry. ; and in subsection
(f)(as redesignated by paragraph (3)), by striking subsection
(d)and inserting subsection
(e).
