Section 502(b) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act ( 7 U.S.C. 1502(b) ) is amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(6)through
(9)as paragraphs
(7)through (10), respectively; and by inserting after paragraph
(5)the following: The term farm financial benchmarking means— the process of comparing the performance of an agricultural enterprise against the performance of other similar enterprises, through the use of comparable and reliable data, in order to identify business management strengths, weaknesses, and steps necessary to improve management performance and business profitability; and benchmarking of the type conducted by farm management and producer associations consistent with the activities described in or funded pursuant to section 1672D of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990 (7 U.S.C. 5925f). . Section 522(d)(3)(F) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act ( 7 U.S.C. 1522(d)(3)(F) ) is amended by inserting farm financial benchmarking, after management, . Section 524(a) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act ( 7 U.S.C. 1524(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (3)(A), by inserting farm financial benchmarking, after risk reduction, ; and in paragraph (4), in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by inserting (including farm financial benchmarking) after management strategies .
