Sec. 321. Energy saving motor control rebate program

Not later than January 1, 2014, the Secretary shall establish a program to provide rebates for expenditures made by entities for the purchase and installation of a new constant speed electric motor control that reduces motor energy use by not less than 5 percent. To be eligible to receive a rebate under this section, an entity shall submit to the Secretary an application in such form, at such time, and containing such information as the Secretary may require, including— demonstrated evidence that the entity purchased a constant speed electric motor control that reduces motor energy use by not less than 5 percent; and the physical nameplate of the installed motor of the entity to which the energy saving motor control is attached.
The Secretary may provide to an entity that meets the requirements of paragraph
(1)a rebate the amount of which shall be equal to the product obtained by multiplying— the nameplate horsepower of the electric motor to which the energy saving motor control is attached; and $25. There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2014 and 2015, to remain available until expended.
