Sec. 1102. Additional U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers

Not later than September 30, 2017, the Secretary shall increase the number of trained U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers by 3,500, compared to the number of such officers as of the date of the enactment of this Act. The Secretary shall make progress in increasing such number of officers during each of the fiscal years 2014 through 2017. Nothing in subsection
(a)may be interpreted to preclude the Secretary from reassigning or stationing U.S. Customs and Border protection officers and agents from the Northern border to the Southern border. There are authorized to be appropriated, from the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Trust Fund established under section 6(a)(1), such sums as may be necessary to carry out this section.
