Section 1814(l) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395f(l) ), as amended by section 4102(b)(2) of the HITECH Act ( Public Law 111–5 ), is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: For cost reporting periods beginning on or after January 1, 2016, the Secretary shall remove Medicare-certified hospice inpatient days from the calculation of per diem rates for inpatient critical access hospital services. .
