Section 11 of the Housing Opportunity Program Extension Act of 1996 ( 42 U.S.C. 12805 note) is amended— in subsection (b)(1) after new dwellings insert or the rehabilitation of existing dwellings ; in subsection (b)(2) after new insert or rehabilitated ; in subsection (d)(1) after dwellings insert or rehabilitating existing dwellings to make them decent, safe and sanitary ; in subsection (d)(2) by inserting at the end the following new subparagraph: Planning, administration, and management of grant programs and activities, provided that such expenses do not exceed 20 percent of any grant made under this section. ; in subsection (i)(5) by— striking 24 and inserting 36 ; and striking except that and all that follows through such grant amounts ; in subsection
(j)by— inserting after the heading
(1); Redistribution of funds. — striking 24 and inserting 36 ; striking (or, in the case and all that follows through within 36 months) ; and inserting at the end the following new paragraph: The Secretary shall establish a deadline (which may be extended for good cause as determined by the Secretary) by which time all units that have been assisted with grant funds under this section must be completed and conveyed. . by striking subsection (q).
