Sec. 1262. Notification on potentially significant arms control noncompliance

If the Secretary of Defense has substantial reason to believe that there is a potentially significant case of foreign noncompliance with an arms control treaty to which the United States is a party, the Secretary shall notify the President of such belief. Not later than 30 days after notifying the President of a belief under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate a notice of the action taken to notify the President pursuant to that subsection.
