Section 1886(d)(12) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395ww(d)(12) ) is amended— in subparagraph (C)(i), by striking fiscal years 2011 through 2014 and fiscal year 2015 (before April 1, 2015), 1,600 discharges of individuals entitled to, or enrolled for, benefits under part A and inserting fiscal years 2011 through 2013 and fiscal year 2014 (before April 1, 2014), 1,600 discharges of individuals entitled to, or enrolled for, benefits under part A, or, with respect to fiscal year 2014 (after April 1, 2014), fiscal year 2015, and fiscal year 2016 (before January 1, 2016), 2,000 discharges of such individuals ; and in subparagraph (D)— by striking 1,600 and inserting the applicable number of ; and by adding at the end the following new sentence:
For purposes of the preceding sentence, the term . applicable number of discharges means 1,600 discharges with respect to discharges occurring in fiscal years 2011, 2012, and 2013, and fiscal year 2014 (before April 1, 2014), and 2,000 discharges with respect to discharges occurring in fiscal year 2014 (after April 1, 2014), fiscal year 2015, and fiscal year 2016 (before January 1, 2016).
