Sec. 204. Transmission of annual Coast Guard authorization request

Title 14, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 662 the following: Not later than 30 days after the date on which the President submits to Congress a budget request for a fiscal year pursuant to section 1105 of title 31, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives a Coast Guard authorization request with respect to that fiscal year.
In this section, the term Coast Guard authorization request means proposed legislation that, with respect to the Coast Guard for the relevant fiscal year, includes— recommended end-of-year strengths for active duty personnel and military training student loads for that fiscal year, as described in section 661; recommended authorizations of appropriations for that fiscal year, including with respect to matters described in section 662; and any other matter the Secretary considers appropriate for inclusion in a Coast Guard authorization bill. .
