Section 18(e)(2) of the National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002 ( 42 U.S.C. 1862n–7 ) is amended to read as follows: The Director shall— establish metrics to evaluate the success of the programs established by the Foundation for encouraging individuals identified in section 33 or 34 of the Science and Engineering Equal Opportunities Act (42 U.S.C. 1885a or 1885b) to study and prepare for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, including programs that provide for mentoring for such individuals; carry out evaluations based on the metrics; and include the findings and conclusions of such evaluations in the report described in paragraph (1). .
Section 7031(b) of the America COMPETES Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1862o–11 ) is repealed.
