Section 8107(c)(21) is amended— by striking not to exceed $3,500 and inserting in proportion to the severity of the disfigurement, not to exceed $50,000, ; and by adding at the end the following: The maximum amount of compensation under this paragraph shall be increased on March 1 of each year by the amount determined by the Secretary of Labor to represent the percent change in the price index published for December of the preceding year over the price index published for the December of the year prior to the preceding year, adjusted to the nearest one-tenth of 1 percent. .
Section 8134(a) is amended— by striking $800 and inserting $6,000 ; and by adding at the end the following: The maximum amount of compensation under this subsection shall be increased on March 1 of each year by the amount determined by the Secretary of Labor to represent the percent change in the price index published for December of the preceding year over the price index published for the December of the year prior to the preceding year, adjusted to the nearest one-tenth of 1 percent. .
The amendments made by this section shall apply to injuries or deaths, respectively, occurring on or after the date of enactment of this Act.
