Section 8117 is amended— in the section heading, by striking and inserting Time of accrual of right ; Waiting period in subsection (a)— in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking An employee and all that follows through is not entitled and inserting ; In general .—An employee is not entitled to continuation of pay within the meaning of section 8118 for the first 3 days of temporary disability or, if section 8118 does not apply, is not entitled in paragraph (1), by adding or at the end; by striking paragraph (2); and by redesignating paragraph
(3)as paragraph (2); and in subsection (b)— by striking A Postal Service the first place it appears and all that follows through A Postal Service the second place it appears and inserting ; Use of leave .—An by striking that 3-day period and inserting the first 3 days of temporary disability ; and by striking or is followed by permanent disability .
