Section 611 (29 U.S.C. 795) is amended— in subsection (a)— in paragraph (1)— by striking in the competitive and inserting in competitive integrated employment in the ; and by inserting locally after career advancement ; and in paragraph (2)— in the matter preceding subparagraph (A)— by inserting local and national after jointly financed ; by inserting in competitive integrated employment after career opportunities ; and by striking Secretary of Labor and inserting Secretary of Education ; in subparagraph (A)— by striking clause
(ii)and inserting the following: identify job and career availability within the community, consistent with the existing and emerging in-demand industry sectors and occupations, and the employment needs of employers in those industry sectors and occupations, identified by the local workforce development board for the corresponding local area under section 118(b)(1)(A) of the Workforce Investment Act of 2013; ; in clause (iii), by striking and after the semicolon; in clause (iv), by inserting and after the semicolon; and by adding at the end the following: coordinate such training and job placement activities with the local workforce development boards described in clause
(ii)as appropriate, and with the Job Corps center industry councils established under section 254 of the Workforce Investment Act of 2013. ; and in subparagraph (C)— in clause (i), by striking and after the semicolon; by redesignating clause
(ii)as clause (iii); and by inserting after clause
(i)the following: internship programs for individuals with disabilities who seek employment; and ; in subsection (e)(2), by striking in States, portions of States, Indian tribes, or tribal organizations and inserting nationally or in States, in portions of States, across multiple States, or in Indian tribes or tribal organizations ; and by adding at the end the following: Grant funds awarded under this section shall not be used to support services in sheltered workshops or segregated settings. .
