There are transferred to and vested in the Administrator all functions vested in the Secretary by the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 ( 42 U.S.C. 10101 et seq. ) relating to— the construction and operation of a repository; entering into and performing contracts for the disposal of nuclear waste under section 302 of that Act ( 42 U.S.C. 10222 ); the collection, adjustment, deposition, and use of fees to offset expenditures for the management of nuclear waste; and the issuance of obligations under section 302(e)(5) of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 (42 U.S.C. 10222(e)(5)).
