Sec. 4. Promoting public awareness of scleroderma

The Secretary, acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shall carry out an educational campaign to increase public awareness of scleroderma. Print, video, and Web-based materials distributed under this program may include— basic information on scleroderma and its symptoms; information on the incidence and prevalence of scleroderma; diseases and conditions affiliated with scleroderma; or the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. The Secretary is encouraged to disseminate information under subsection
(a)through a cooperative agreement with a national nonprofit entity with expertise in scleroderma. Not later than September 30, 2013, the Secretary shall report to the Committees on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and Appropriations of the Senate and the Committees on Energy and Commerce and Appropriations of the House of Representatives on the status of activities under this section. For the purpose of carrying out this section, there is authorized to be appropriated $2,500,000 for each of fiscal years 2014, 2015, and 2016.
