Section 756(a) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 ( 42 U.S.C. 16104(a) ) is amended by striking paragraph
(5)and inserting the following: The term idle reduction technology means an advanced truck stop electrification system, auxiliary power unit, or other technology that— is used to reduce long-duration idling; and allows for the main drive engine or auxiliary refrigeration engine to be shut down; or uses an alternative fuel to reduce consumption of conventional fuel and environmental emissions. . Section 756(b)(4)(B) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 ( 42 U.S.C. 16104(b)(4)(B) ) is amended in clauses
(i)and
(ii)by striking fiscal year 2008 each place it appears and inserting each of fiscal years 2008 through 2018 .
