Sec. 3121. Assessment of nuclear nonproliferation programs of the National Nuclear Security Administration

The Administrator for Nuclear Security shall enter into an arrangement with the National Academy of Sciences to conduct an assessment of existing and future nuclear nonproliferation programs of the National Nuclear Security Administration. The assessment required by subsection
(a)shall include an assessment of the following: The status of nuclear nonproliferation programs of the National Nuclear Security Administration as of the date of the enactment of this Act. Whether those programs are meeting the goals of those programs. The extent of the work remaining for those programs to meet those goals. Nuclear nonproliferation programs of the National Nuclear Security Administration with countries that have obtained nuclear weapons and are not parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, done at Washington, London, and Moscow July 1, 1968, and entered into force March 5, 1970 (21 UST 483) (commonly known as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ). Nuclear nonproliferation programs of the National Nuclear Security Administration with countries that are non-nuclear weapon state parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and are acquiring nuclear materials in violation of commitments under the Treaty. Nuclear nonproliferation programs to be carried out by the National Nuclear Security Administration during the 10-period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act. Not later than January 31, 2015, the Administrator shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report containing the results of the assessment required by subsection (a).
