Section 1121 ( 20 U.S.C. 6331 ) is amended— in subsection (a), by striking section 1002(a) and 1125A(f) and inserting paragraphs
(1)and
(3)of section 3(a) ; in subsection (b)(3)— in subparagraph (A), by striking and freely associated States ; and in subparagraph (C)(ii), by striking challenging State academic content standards and inserting college and career ready State academic content standards under section 1111(a)(1) ; and by striking subsection
(c)and inserting the following: As used in subsections
(a)and (b), the term outlying area has the meaning given that term in subparagraphs
(A)and
(B)of section 9101(42). .
