Sec. 1201. Authority to conduct activities to enhance the capability of foreign countries to respond to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction

The Secretary of Defense, with the concurrence of the Secretary of State, and in consultation with the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security, may provide assistance to the military and civilian first responders of a foreign country in order for that country to respond effectively to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction. Assistance provided under this section may include training, equipment, and supplies. Amounts available for any fiscal year for the provision of assistance under the authority in subsection
(a)may be used for an activity to provide such assistance that begins in that fiscal year but ends in the next fiscal year. In carrying out this section, the Secretary of Defense shall comply with any otherwise-applicable requirement for coordination or consultation within the executive branch.
